ID Hospital (Hangul: 아이디병원) located in Seoul, South Korea is widely recognized throughout Asia for being the leading hospital for facial bone surgery. Dr. Sang-Hoon Park, a pioneer in the field of facial bone surgery and orthognathic plastic surgery, is the founder and Chief Surgeon of ID Hospital. He founded his own private plastic surgery hospital in 2004 “Park Sang-Hoon Facial Bone Surgery Clinic” (presently ID Hospital) and began performing orthognathic surgery aiming to improve functional and aesthetic aspects for individuals. * Dr. Park was the first to perform the orthognathic surgery in his private plastic surgery clinic in South Korea. Prior to this, orthognathic surgery was performed at general hospitals only. He also developed a wide array of techniques to greatly improve the orthognathic and facial bone contouring surgery techniques. Dr. Park was the first to innovate the No-tie orthognathic surgery, which eliminated the jaw tying process after the surgery. The upper and lower jaw (maxilla and mandible) used to be with rubber bands or wires in order to adjust the postoperative occlusion, resulting in patients having great difficulties in breathing and drinking/eating. However, since he introduced a method omitting the tying process, the recovery period was shortened while increasing the patient’s comfort level exponentially. * ID Hospital also operates a dermatology clinic, a dental clinic and skin care products company, ID PLACOSMETICS. ID Hospital also has operating overseas branches in Thailand (Bangkok), Indonesia (Jakarta, Surabaya) and Japan (Ginza). |
