Robinson José Canó Mercedes (Spanish pronunciation: [ka'no]; born October 22, 1982) is a Dominican-American professional baseball second baseman for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut with the New York Yankees on May 3, 2005, played for them through the 2013 season, and was a member of their 2009 World Series-winning team. He has represented the Dominican Republic in international play, including winning both the gold medal and Most Valuable Player Award (MVP) of the 2013 World Baseball Classic (WBC) tournament.
