The Carabinieri (formally Arma dei Carabinieri, "Carabinieri Force" or previously Corpo dei Carabinieri Reali, "Royal Carabinieri Corps"; Italian pronunciation: [karabinjri]) is the fourth Italian military force charged with police duties under the authority of the Ministry of Defense.
